Performance Testing

Performance testing has been done since 1978. An above-average high % Growth Selection Index is maintained.

Klipkoppies Dorper Stud has been part of the Dorper 21 Plan program since 1999.

The rams of Klipkoppies Dorper Stud do well on various veld ram auctions, by reaching the highest average selection index. Hardiness and adaptability is proved thereby.

The following achievements were attained:

2011 – Northern Cape veld ram project at Prieska: Klipkoppies ram attained highest final weight and 2nd highest SI%.

2011 – Dorperland Dorper Club Veldram Project at Brandvlei: Klipkoppies ram attained highest final weight and 2nd highest SI%.

2009 – SA National Veldram Auction at De Aar: Highest average index of 113. 31 Breeders with 241 rams participated.

2006 – Brandvlei Veldram Auction: Highest selection index % of 125 was attained. 26 Breeders with 152 rams participated.

2006 – 21st Northern Cape Veldram Auction at Griewastad: A twin ram attained SI % of 123. 23 Breeders with 170 participated.

2003 – Northern Cape Veldram Auction at Griekwastad: The highest SI% attained. 27 Breeders participated.

1999 – 14th Northern Cape Auction at Griekwastad: The highest SI% of 133 attained, with testes measurements of +5. 221 rams participated.
